FAQs

In a nutshell, what is BIKEMASTER?

BIKEMASTER is a comprehensive rider training programme delivered on road and track by a RAPID Pro Coach. It consists of three levels of training, each of which progresses from the one before and develops the rider to a higher standard of ability. It is the most advanced form of training of its type in the UK.

Can I do the BIKEMASTER programme near me?

RAPID Pro Coaches ride and train extensively on many of the best and most scenic roads that the UK has to offer. Routes are selected not only to help you really develop your riding skills but also to make your training experience a truly memorable one. Choose a region near you or if you’re feeling more adventurous and fancy a change from the roads you know, why not try a different area? We’ll even advise on the best places to enjoy an overnight stay.

What level do I need to be at to do the course?

BIKEMASTER is suitable for all riders with a full UK motorcycle driving licence at all levels of experience. Riders with current advanced riding qualifications, including RoSPA and IAM certification, can go straight to Level 2.

Do I have to ride super-fast to be a BIKEMASTER?

Absolutely not. BIKEMASTER is all about mastering your machine, safely and confidently, not about speed for its own sake. Our Pro Coaches guide you through the skills and techniques that help you to achieve smooth, effortless, intuitive riding - the ultimate aim of the BIKEMASTER programme.

How does it work with track and road coaching?

Track coaching happens as part of Level 2 and Level 3 of the programme and is conducted during the months of April-September. Track places are based on availability and are assigned at the time of booking. Road coaching, on the other hand, is delivered throughout the year, at all levels and is over 2 full days, usually taken consecutively.

Why is the track training element important?

The addition of the track element within BIKEMASTER allows you to get a real feel for the performance capability of yourself and your bike in a safe and controlled environment - always under the expert guidance of a RAPID Pro Coach. Experiencing the thrill of the track along with intensive on road training is unique to RAPID and what makes BIKEMASTER such an incredible programme to quickly develop a rider‘s true potential.

Where do I do my track training and what’s involved?

Track coaching is delivered 3:1, over a full day at Blyton Park Circuit, Lincolnshire. The 1.6 mile technically challenging circuit comes complete with classrooms, changing facilities and an all day café. With a maximum of 12 riders per session, it is an ideal and safe environment to learn, build confidence and progress your bike handling ability. As track days are an early start, we advise all riders to consider staying at one of the many great value accommodation options around Blyton Park. Do I use my own bike on the track?

The majority of riders choose to use their own bike on the track so they can truly become one with the machine they regularly ride. If, however, you feel you would like to hire a bike for the day, through our partnership with Track Bike Hire UK, you can pre-book a fully prepared Yamaha R6 with full technical support including all consumables, fuel and tyre warmers. We can also offer equipment hire including ARMR race leathers and full race suits (helmets, gloves, boots) if required.

Can I book all levels of BIKEMASTER in one go, and is there a saving?

Yes you can, and yes there is. For many serious riders committed to completing the course, a one-off payment for the entire programme is the hassle-free way to go. As an added bonus we will give a preferential discounted rate when booking all three levels. Please discuss at the time of booking.

What happens if I have any other questions on motorcycle training?

Here at RAPID, our mission is to inspire every rider to get out and ride, and to do it well. If you have any other questions relating to our high performance coaching and training programmes, please don’t hesitate to contact us. After all, when you’re part of the RAPID Community we’re here to help you become a better, more accomplished rider in any way we can.

Do I need full leathers for the track?
