INTUITIVE RIDING
Almost all advanced riding organisations base their syllabus on a system known as IPSGA. This involves a rider, on the approach to every hazard, sequentially considering their Position, Speed, Gear and Acceleration, whilst continuously gathering Information including checking mirrors, using lifesavers, considering signals and much more. Each new hazard requires us to start the process again. You only have to think about how often we approach multiple and often competing hazards to realise how complex and cumbersome this can become.
The RAPID approach reduces complexity dramatically. Rather than treating each hazard individually, we show riders how to intuitively trade off speed and position relative to multiple competing hazards. Simple, effective and quick to learn, this approach leaves the rider free to focus on other aspects of their ride.
MACHINE CONTROL SKILLS
Machine control skills are essential to both safety and performance. Yet there is virtually no machine control content on a traditional, civilian advanced riding course.
Machine control techniques, developed from the cutting edge of riding, form an integral part of all of RAPID courses.
BIKEMASTER, our flagship course, incorporates track coaching into the syllabus to help riders develop a very high level of machine control skill - and it is usually transformational to their performance on the road.
