Track Training Days

What's with all this Track stuff? I don't want to be a racer, I don't want to ride like a nutter, so its got nothing to do with me. If this is how you are thinking then please spare me a few minutes to put an alternative view.

Track Training days don't have to be about riding any faster than you want to. In fact you will be warned against doing just that. Good Track Training days are about learning what your bike will do for you, and what you can do for it. Right, let's say you have done the road course and you now think you are a safe flowing rider with mile wide safety margins. The weakness in your armour is that you are human!

At some stage in your riding career you will unfortunately make a mistake. It's here that track days can help. You will one day ride into a corner "too" fast. What Track Training days will give you is the skills to make a plan to come out the other side of this experience intact. Most riders never get anyway near the cornering potential of their bikes on the road, and that's probably a good thing. So if the first time you have to corner excessively hard is for real, on the road, in a real cock up, then I can almost guarantee that you will get it wrong.

A well-structured track training days will give you time to build up your skills and confidence in a safe environment. In the company of an experienced instructor you can improve beyond your wildest dreams! The plus side of this is it must be one of the most pleasurable things to learn that you could ever be asked to take part in. I know the argument will be that your pride and joy isn't insured to ride on a track, but I can assure you on a Rapid Day you are safer on the track than you were on the ride to the circuit.

In my day job as an accident investigator, it's so upsetting to attend accidents where people have fallen off their bikes in a corner. Not because they were going too fast for the bend, but because they just gave up. So even if you don't want to be the new Neil Hodgson, there is still so much to learn, and so much fun to be had.

So take the plunge. Our promise is we will look after you and make sure you have a great time. Remember though, it's road training first, track second. Don't worry what bike you have, as long as it has two wheels and an engine. If it's what you use on the road then there is something to learnt, and a whole lot of fun to be had.
