History:- Jon has been riding bikes since 1967 and became a Police Class One rider in 1982. Motorcycles seem to flow in his blood. Among his highly impressive list of qualifications He was an Instructor on the Nurburgring for 10 years. He is a Staff Examiner for the IAM and an Examiner for RoSPA, but the one that caught my eye was the B.M.C.R.C. Open 500cc and Production 600cc Championship winner in 1987 including setting a new 600cc Production race record at Brands Hatch and winning the prestigious Sir Ben Ball Trophy for that year. Having dabbled myself in the racing game I know that doesn't come easy.
Most Embarrassing Biking Moment:- Was part of a group of riders being photographed by Das Motorrad magazine for a 'Ringbook' publication. Being third in line from the camera car the riders were being encouraged to get closer to the car to make for a better picture. On entering a tricky section of the track the camera car changed line. The first rider shut the throttle, the second rider braked and JT braked, but a little too hard and promptly crashed in front of the camera. Most embarrassing.
